Five-minute concert work that features the brass section. The initial fanfare transitions into a lyrical second theme, which launches into the stormy middle section. Calm emerges from the chaos, rising like the sun to the triumphant conclusion. Also written for brass ensemble.

About the piece
I originally wrote this piece in 2010 for the Hutchinson High School Brass Ensemble, with Steve Pasche conducting. About ten years later, I decided the music deserved an expansion to full orchestra, which I released in early 2022. It’s very much a brass feature piece, invoking all the majesty and triumph often associated with fanfares, but fully integrating the richness and depth of the strings for this arrangement. I hope when you hear this piece, you can picture the sun coming up over mountains as all of the land within sight gradually bursts into color and warmth.
Into the Sunrise is a companion piece to Into the Sunset, which features the woodwind section.
